About
Amanda Fields is a mindfulness-based life coach and meditation teacher. Amanda has trained in clinical mental health counseling for the past four years, which has included direct supervised experience working in community mental health, as well as private counseling practice. This training has helped inform Amanda’s understanding of human suffering and what it means to endure together.
A longtime meditator and student of Engaged Buddhism, Amanda undertook a master’s degree at Naropa University, the U.S.’s first Buddhism-inspired accredited institution, with the intention of joining a community of people dedicated to contemplative practice and collective liberation. Amanda’s work is guided and inspired by the teachings of Naropa faculty, including its founder, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, and past teachers such as Ram Dass and Joanna Macy. Called to help ease the suffering in the world and to pass on the knowledge and practices learned, Amanda has developed a holistic pathway to support others through mindfulness-based life coaching, an approach that focuses on cultivating deeper levels of awareness, clarity, and connection, enabling greater access to inner peace and wisdom.
Amanda utilizes a dynamic framework based on global research around mindfulness, spirituality, and the mind-body connection.
Mindfulness-based life coaching is supportive for those seeking a reduction in stress and those seeking personal or spiritual growth. Mindfulness-based life coaching may not be appropriate for those experiencing certain mental health conditions. Per state law, Amanda does not diagnose or treat mental illness.
Statement of Social Location:
“I come from mostly white ancestry, with many relatives who migrated from Europe to the southern Appalachian region of North America. Some of my ancestors are Melungeon. I am abled, gender non-conforming, non-neurotypical and queer. I recognize the violence and multigenerational harm caused by colonialism, which has included displacement and the erasure of people and cultures.”
